1-2 horas por semana. Students will read the books outside of the classroom time. Students will also come to class prepared to think and talk critically about the books they've read.Experiencia de clase
In this weekly, on-going book club, students will be discussing a well loved teen/young adult book each month. Comprehension questions and in depth discussions on plot, characters, themes, narration, pacing, language and much more will take place. Students will also play games and participate in debates. These classes will be very student focused, with students having a lot of opportunities to voice their opinions. Each lesson will be a complete lesson, which means you can join and leave at any time. It is highly recommended that you read the book before the lessons. This will mean you get more out of the lessons and won't be spoiled. Each book will be age appropriate, but I recommend that you visit the website Common Sense Media to make a decision if the books are appropriate for your student. Books will not be provided. They must be bought or borrowed at your own discretion. I was also a high school English tutor for students aged 13-18. While tutoring a lot of my teaching was on how to analyse a text and reading comprehension .
