I will be reading the book, 'The Grouchy Ladybug' to the learners and we will engage in discussion about the book, including the behavior of the ladybug. We will also be learning about different ladybugs, why they are useful in preserving some of our environment, and I will present more ladybug facts. After I read the book, I will demonstrate how to make a simple snack.

Students will learn interesting facts about ladybugs, including the life cycle of those cute bugs, and why they are important to the environment. Learners will also be able to make a snack using ingredients found in the materials section.

an apple, cut in half from stem end to bottom, raisins (or craisins will work too), peanut butter to be used as glue to stick the raisins to the apple, and a large, dark fruit like a grape or a prune, etc. to be used as the head. Pretzel sticks can be used as the antennae. If your child is allergic to peanuts you can use cream cheese as the 'glue'.
