Join us for this fun, highly energetic, and interactive book club. During this six week class, we will meet once a week to discuss and revel in the second of the Wingfeather Saga… North! Or Be Eaten! by Andrew Peterson. You do NOT want to miss our book club discussion of this beloved bestseller! The main characters are incredibly inspiring and courageous. The tale is deeply adventurous, full of intrigue and suspense, but not frightening. It is truly a delightful read, and will leave your student eagerly awaiting the next book! Full of characters rich in heart, smarts, and courage, this series is a tale children of all ages (and their parents) will cherish! Janner, Tink, and Leeli Igiby thought they were normal children with normal lives and a normal past. But now they know they're really the Lost Jewels of Anniera, heirs to a legendary kingdom across the sea, and suddenly everyone wants to kill them. In order to survive, the Igibys must flee to the safety of the Ice Prairies, where the lizardlike Fangs of Dang cannot follow. First, however, they have to escape the monsters of Glipwood Forest, the thieving Stranders of the East Ben, and the dreaded Fork Factory. But even more dangerous are the jealousies and bitterness that threaten to tear them apart. Janner and his siblings must learn the hard way that the love of a family is more important than anything else. In this multi-day class, we will meet once weekly for six weeks to dive deep into the second book in the series. During class time, full participation in class discussion is expected. There is grace for a shy student, of course, but students will be encouraged to dive into the discussion as they acclimate to the group. Each student will have a turn to share their thoughts and ideas. I will have questions and discussion prompts ready each week, should conversation lag. After our discussion time, we will end with a game if time permits! My book clubs are typically highly engaging, highly interactive, very lively! Chapters will be assigned to be read ahead of time, before class. There are 65 relatively short chapters in this book. The book is also available as an audiobook! All of class time will be dedicated to discussing the books, applying critical thinking, discussing characters, plot, and other literary aspects, etc, and ending with a fun game, all related to the book. Our last class will be a book party! Snacks are welcome and encouraged! I am creating book clubs for each book in the series! Stay tuned! Week 1 - Please read chapters 1-10 BEFORE class! Week 2 - Please read chapters 11-20 BEFORE class! Week 3 - Please read chapters 21-30 BEFORE class! Week 4 - Please read chapters 31-40 BEFORE class! Week 5 - Please read chapters 41-50 BEFORE class!
