If you enjoy twists on fairy tales, you will love The School for Good and Evil. This exciting story follows best friends Sophie and Agatha as they begin their time at the fabled school. However, their places seem to have been reversed with beautiful, charming Sophie in the school for Evil and witchy, unpleasant Agatha in the school for Good. In this four-week class, learners will participate in meaningful discussions as we read the novel together. Book clubs are an excellent way to engage reluctant readers or help enthusiastic readers dig a little deeper. Students will need their own copy of the text to complete assigned readings before attending class. We will explore the text and it's themes through discussion and a variety of engaging critical thinking activities. Class will be conducted in a casual, book club style with plenty of time for discussion. As we discuss the book we will work on: -expressing our thoughts and opinions and listening to others -comprehension -prediction -character analysis -plot development
