In this discussion based class, learners will have an assignment to read prior to each session, and then will join together as a class for a profound and deep discussion of the main characters, the character traits, exposition of the novel, challenges, being faced by different important characters, cliffhangers that are present throughout the novel, themes with specific evidence of those themes, and very important turning points and settings in the novel. - Learning goals will include, but not limited to, review of the exposition, gaining additional vocabulary, understanding how the setting, and the events of that time fit into the context of the book. The writers style is very interesting to study in the way that many facts including the character’s name, are not released until the end of the book . The concepts of hope, helping others during difficult moments, and realizing how important it is to get to know, people before passing judgment.

A copy of the book paperboy by Vince Vawter. If you are interested in having your learner continue with one of the two essay classes described above, please discuss that with me ahead of reading so that I may get you the proper graphic organizer to use while reading the book.
