Book Brew Cafe: sorbe, comparte y saborea historias (club mensual).

Welcome to the Book Brew Cafe, especially designed for voracious middle school readers who want a space to share their love of books with others. Here we have a cozy online space where students are invited to share their passion for stories.

*Everyone is welcome, whether they love speaking and can’t wait to tell others about their book, or whether they always have their nose in a book and tend to keep quiet.

*Each month, there will be a different topic or theme for choosing their own book, so they will have the challenge of reading something new that somehow fits into that category.

*No pressure

*No homework (reading a choice book is not “homework,” right?!)

*Gather to sip on the rich flavors of our favorite books . . . oh! And sip on your favorite drink. (chai tea for me!)

*Savor the excitement of hearing about others’ reading adventures.

Here are the monthly challenges:

June: Read a book with a crazy cover (or cover image if reading digitally).
July: Read a historical fiction book or book that revolves around a real historical event or the distant past.
August: Read a book with an unusual narrator (who is telling the story).
September: Read a book with a huge conflict in it.
October: Read a mystery book or book that looks a little scary.
November: Read a book that has an uplifting or very positive word in the title.
December: Read a book that was just released this past year.
January: Read a book set in a cold winter or climate.
February: Read a skinny book, or shorter book than you typically choose.
March: Read a book that has won a major award.
April: Read a book related to nature.
May: Read a book that inspires you to be a better person.

*You're only billed for the class dates that we meet. (It is confusing because the the classes default to $weekly, but you are NOT charged during weeks your session doesn't meet.)

Necesidades de aprendizaje
All learners will be included. Each person may choose how they want to participate whether it be through speaking, listening, typing in the chat, etc.
Orientación para padres
Parents should monitor what their child is choosing to read in preparation for the class. I am not assigning any specific books. They will choose a book that is appropriate for them, based on the month's general topic, theme, or fun challenge.
Lista de útiles escolares
Each child will read their own choice book, which they will have to obtain. I can provide suggestions based on each month's topic if needed.
