  • Students will learn the characteristics of birds, how to identify common North American birdcalls and what makes raptors different than other birds, plus learn interesting facts about birds from around the world.
I am teaching this class because I am enthusiastic about sharing my passion for birding with students! I researched bird calls, tracks, and bird characteristics extensively while writing the bird section and species checklist for my book, "Ohio Wildlife: A Coloring Field Guide." I have a master's degree in Ecological Leadership and Education, and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and have taught classes about birds at nature centers, Raptor Festivals, schools, homeschool groups, and art centers.
Optional craft projects will be provided for before, during, or after class. Learners may choose the project that is the right fit for them depending on interest and available supplies. Please check the classroom for detailed instructions about each project. Print-outs will be attached to classroom posts.
