Do you love biology, or hate it? - However you feel about it, I'm happy to help answer your questions! Everyone is at different levels of learning, and everyone has different skills and interests. If you struggle with biology, I would love to break down concepts for you into easier to understand chunks. And if you love it, I would love to nerd out with you and cover advanced topics or talk about careers in the field.

What subjects do I teach? - Basically everything biology! With my Master's in Biology, I can easily help your learner with all of the standard middle/high school biology topics. Content I know students have particular trouble with include mitosis/meiosis, heredity/Punnett squares, photosynthesis/cellular respiration, cells, and evolution. I will happily cover all these and more! Not sure if I cover what you need? Please ask! I respond quickly all year round :)

What is my teaching style? - When I teach, I like to use a lot of visuals, a lot of examples, and get students thinking about the concepts and how they relate to real life. Particularly with biology, so much of the material can be connected to facts you already know about the world! Once a topic is covered, I like to do mini-reviews/practice problems to help organize the material in your mind for better retention. While this is my default teaching method, I'm happy to work with an individual and meet them at their level, creating specific lesson plans based on their needs and learning style.
