In this engaging discussion-based club, students explore real scientific research articles from Science Journal for Teens. Each week, they’ll read an article, analyze the research process, and participate in a collaborative discussion. Learners will strengthen reading comprehension, scientific thinking, and communication skills while exploring fascinating topics across biology, climate science, technology, and more! Club Schedule: Week of 4/27: How special do you have to be to live in acidic soil? Week of 5/4: Can we save rhinos from extinction? Week of 5/11: How hot can corn handle it? Week of 5/18: What kind of fungus are you? Week of 5/25: Palm oil is everywhere – but where did it come from? Week of 6/1: What is going on in the tropical stratosphere? Week of 6/8: Do bees get the flu? Week of 6/15: Why is New Orleans sinking? Week of 6/22: How much money is stored under our feet? Learners will receive direct, individualized feedback from the instructor—who holds a master’s degree in Animal Science, has published peer-reviewed research articles, and has taught scientific writing.
