This Beginning Violin Class (PART 1) is a basic, but thorough, introduction to the instrument taught by a State-Certified music educator and professional violinist. It is designed to teach students from the very beginning with lots of visuals and close-ups, and provide a quality foundation for future studies in private instruction, school orchestras, and other learning experiences. This is a fun class for students to get started learning the violin the RIGHT way. Experience: NO experience required! What students will learn: Proper posture and hold / Pizzicato / Basic Theory / Notes on the D and A strings / Bow Hold / Producing a good tone / "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" / "Baby Shark" / "Old Macdonald Had a Farm" / "Hot Cross Buns." This class is a FLEXIBLE Schedule class in which students interact with me and each other through professionally pre-recorded videos, in-class performances, games and group discussions. Every week, I will post the videos for that week (each ranging from 30-55 minutes in length), as well as the assignments. Learners will post a video of themselves playing the song of the week (whether the whole thing or just their favorite part) and turn in their written assignments, if any. I will provide feedback on both types of assignments in written, audio, or video format, and encourage students to give their peers feedback as well.
