Class sessions will include group activities, opportunities for learners to ask questions, and demonstration and discussion of tricky problems. Between class sessions, learners will be given information in written and video form, as needed based on the topic (for example, a process of how to solve a problem would usually be given in video rather than written form, to allow for proper notation and verbal step-by-step explanation), in the class discussion area.

The general topic outline for the first month will be prerequisite review and equations and inequalities. For details of what will be addressed within these areas, see the learning goals list. We will be using the OpenStax Algebra and Trigonometry curriculum from Rice University as an outline and reference, and while this is not a test prep class, I am mindful of the fact that learners may have passing credit-bearing exams like CLEP Precalculus as a goal and the scope and rigor will be consistent. (The next month's unit will be available for enrollment as students near completion of this course.)

Subject to learners' needs and interests, our weekly schedule and pacing will be:
Week 1: 1.1-1.3
Week 2: 1.4-1.6
Week 3: 2.1-2.4
Week 4: 2.5-2.7

The recommended learner background is recent successful completion of a class like Algebra 2, Secondary Integrated Math 3, or another comparable class.
