Teoría musical inicial

Equivalent to 1 semester. Start with the basics! 

Since this is a beginning level class, no prior knowledge of music is required, although having a basis of music can be helpful - all are welcome! It's perfect for the student learning an instrument, would like to learn an instrument, or who loves to sing!

Curriculum:
Week 1: The music staff, note values, rhythm
Week 2: Identifying and reading notes on the treble clef, rest values, double bar lines, repeat signs
Week 3: Identifying and reading notes on the bass clef, time signatures
Week 4: Tempo, dynamics, half steps, whole steps
Week 5: Advanced rhythms, flat, sharp, and natural signs
Week 6: Melody, listening to melody and creating a melody, phrasing
Week 7: Constructing a major scale
Week 8: Advanced rhythms, major scales, discuss final project
Week 9: Key signatures
Week 10: Final projects, review of all material

This course will introduce learners to the staff, treble and bass clefs, rhythm, musical and rhythmic notation, dynamics, and time signatures. This class is interactive and learners are encouraged to actively participate throughout the class. Students will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each class and Miss Brooke will stay on Zoom after class for students to ask questions related to the material. Miss Brooke is very patient and is passionate about teaching music to her students. She can't wait to meet your learner and dive into the exciting world of music theory!
