1-2 horas por semana. In order to get the most enriching experience from the class, students will be expected to practice 15-20 minutes a day for the duration of the class. Weekly assignments will be given, usually to practice the notes and chords for the song learned in class that day.Experiencia de clase
In this class, younger students will have a chance to learn the basics of guitar. The class will cover basics of the guitar such as parts of the instrument and proper posture while playing, treble clef note reading on the first 3 strings of the guitar along with easier forms of guitar chords that will give students a great start! This is a group class but will still be taught even with one learner! The course will run as follows: Week 1: Notes on the First String Students will learn the basics of the treble clef, and how to read and play the notes E, F, and G. We will discuss strategies to get the best sound from the guitar, how to hold the instrument, use of a pick, and the best hand positions to use while playing. Song of the week: "Spanish Theme" in the Hal Leonard Guitar Method book. Week 2: Notes on the Second String After a review of the previous week's song, "Spanish Theme," students will learn B, C, and D, the notes on the second string, and how to combine them with the notes they already have learned. Song of the week: "World Beat" or "Ode to Joy" in the Hal Leonard Guitar Method. Week 3: Notes on the Third String, Introduction to chords Students will learn the notes G and A on the 3rd string, and again, how to combine them with the previous notes. They will also learn beginning forms of two chords, C and G and practice strumming them. Song of the week: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star." Week 4: Notes on the 3rd string, 3 string review Students will review all 8 notes learned and continue to work on "Twinkle Twinkle." They will also practice chords learned in the previous week. The instructor will demonstrate how to strum along with the song "Rockin' Robin" using the C and G chords. Tips and recommendation for next steps in learning guitar will be discussed at the end of class.

Students will learn how to play the notes on the first 3 strings of the guitar. They will learn modified and/or full forms of the chords C, G, and D. By the end of the course, students will have learned 3 songs, "Spanish Theme," "Ode to Joy," and "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star."
