Are you interested in learning Modern Standard Arabic? Beginning Arabic - Level 1 is a 12-week, highly interactive class developed specifically for elementary-aged children. We will spend the first half of the class focusing on the foundation of Arabic - the Arabic alphabet - while also building basic conversational skills. Students will be increasingly able to use the alphabet to read phrases and expressions they have learned. We will be forming simple sentences, and building on these with every lesson. Week 2 - Introductions: students will learn to introduce themselves and ask others to introduce themselves. Alphabet set 2. Week 3 - Review of first conversation and alphabet set 3. Week 4- Alphabet set 4 and introduction to reading. Week 5 - Correction of reading assignment and introducing alphabet set 5. Week 6 - Vocabulary and conversation. Alphabet set 6. Orientación para padres
Below are my general classroom rules and policies. These will also be explained to students when we begin class.
-For everyone's safety, and to ensure an engaging experience while learning Arabic, students are expected to have working microphones and video for the entirety of this class. They should be positioned such that we can both hear and see them.
-Students are asked not to use virtual backgrounds.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Maestría en Inglés desde San Francisco State University, MA in Linguistics
My entire career has focused on teaching languages and encouraging cross-cultural interaction and learning. After obtaining my undergraduate degree in English, I joined an acclaimed cultural center in Morocco, where I was trained to teach Arabic and facilitate multicultural dialogue. I taught Modern Standard Arabic and Darija (Moroccan Arabic) to students from all over the world.
After moving to California, I continued working as a teacher of languages. I taught Arabic, French, and English as a foreign language for various institutions, including Berlitz, ABC Languages, and Fresno State University. In 2013, I received my Masters in English (with a focus on linguistics) from San Francisco State University. I have been teaching Arabic on Outschool for more than 5 years.
When learning a new language, it's best to use that language as much as possible. While speaking some English may be necessary at first, it should be minimized as learning progresses. As much as possible, I choose to engage my students in Arabic and elicit responses in Arabic as well.
The most efficient way to learn a language is to focus on conversation. In my classes, I always prioritize speaking to help the learner overcome any initial feeling of intimidation. Everybody has a different learning style. As a teacher, I adapt my teaching style to the needs and learning styles of each individual student.
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young sons. I'm excited to raise my children in a multilingual and multicultural environment. With that goal in mind, our family spent 2019 traveling and homeschooling - we visited Germany, Austria, Morocco, Portugal, Spain, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Albania. It was fascinating!
Over the last four years, I've had the pleasure of teaching students of many backgrounds from over two dozen countries. I teach all levels, from absolute beginners to advanced student of Modern Standard Arabic. Feel free to contact me - I'm excited to help you find the perfect course for your learner!
