1 hora por semana. Assignments will be given each week to increase student's proficiency through applying their learning via practice. These should not take more than 10-20 minutes each. Each assignment will be used to track progress as well as for assessment of what needs to be honed in on. All assignments will be online or via typing through Google Docs.Certificado de finalización
A certificate is given showing the first day wpm and the last day wpm to boost student's confidence via progress made. This difference varies student to student, but practice makes all the difference! This will be given on our final day of classes.Experiencia de clase

PLEASE NOTE: Weeks/sessions may be combined if this class is set as private due to only one learner at a time in the class for a one-on-one session. Prior to class beginning, there will website information shared in the classroom tab and login information will be sent as a private message to each student. The site used for practice of what we’ve learned is shared often in the classroom tab as a new post for learners to be able to access the site out of class hours for practice when they are able to do so. A new window will open with the link to the typing site at the top and login information at the bottom. This is a great printable for your student to have near them at the start of each class so they too can know how to login in! At the beginning of each class, students will be given an activity or a question to answer which helps all of the learners get to know each other, warms us up and gets the class flowing. Students who are too shy or unable to participate do not have to participate. Only those who want to share will be called on. The chat box is set to privately message the teacher should students want to share without others knowing. This is an interactive course taught over the course of 6 weeks (1x a week) to help students learn how to type properly, efficiently and have fun doing it! Students learn how to type the letters of the alphabet, numbers, the main punctuation we use almost daily, our name, some symbols and we will use the home row or home keys to practice proper positioning. Proper posture is key as well! We will also practice what we learn using a website, the chat box and teacher created games to add fun to the learning process. Our typing practice will be in the form of lessons completed on the typing site as well as requested chat box messages. ***PLEASE NOTE: All activities requiring use of the chat box will occur with the chat messages set to private so only the host (aka: the teacher) will see the messages. Activities and games will be provided by the teacher for each lesson or derive from the typing site. To begin class, each student will be allowed time to introduce him/herself and answer a question of the day to warm us up. We will have relaxed conversations at the beginning of each class following the first week to get to know each other and build community in class. The more relaxed students are, the better they type! Week 1: To begin our first day, we will have a warmup to allow the class to become familiar with one another (no one is required to share if they are uncomfortable doing so). Following our introductions, we will practice using the chat box and learn all about the keyboard. We will also practice proper positioning, proper posture, how to login to the typing site we will use for some of our practice, take a 1 minute typing test to see how fast can we type now versus at the end of the class to set our personal goals, and if time allows, we will work on J, F and Spacebar! Day 1 is a busy day! Week 2: We will begin class with a short discussion (no one is required to share if they are uncomfortable doing so). Following our discussion, we will dive in to review what we have learned so far for the new comers (no one will miss out if they join us on a random week) and we will learn all about punctuation! If we did not address J, F and Spacebar in the first lesson, we will do so during this lesson as well. Week 3: At the start of class, we will all share (no one is required to share if they are uncomfortable doing so) to get us warmed up to each other. Following the warmup, we will begin reviewing what we have previously learned for new comers. Next, we will practice learning all of the letter keys on the keyboard using various fun activities created by the teacher. Be prepared for working hard and playing hard on this day! Week 4: Our class will begin like the others with a five minute or less get to know each other time (no one is required to share if they are uncomfortable doing so). We will learn the numbers keys across the top of our keyboard. We will use the typing site to practice these keys and we will have additional practice through fun games created by the teacher. Week 5: Class will begin as we have before with a short question of the day, a discussion or sharing time about our previous weekend/week (no one is required to share if they are uncomfortable doing so). We will then dive in to review thoroughly everything learned and practice by hopping on the typing site for extensive practice. Newcomers can join in the practice and review easily as we will cover everything before practice time. Our goal will be to accomplish as much as we can with our lessons on the typing site and playing games on the typing site if we have completed all of our lessons. Everyone will jump in where they are on their journey and can continue classes to catch lessons missed if interested! Week 6: Sadly, this is our final day together, but classes will be ongoing for anyone who wishes to continue on and repeat the classes. More classes will be listed (follow me to make sure you do not miss out) soon! Today will be a great day to warmup with a short discussion and some practice with games created by the teacher to get our hands and fingers warmed up for fast typing! We will then accomplish taking a 1 minute typing test. Students who wish to have a certificate from the teacher and the typing site may request one to be sent to their Outschool messages. Students will be allowed to play games and finish out class with plenty of practice by typing their lessons out or playing games. This class may be offered privately with a longer span of weeks to focus on only three keys at a time if need be with extra practice provided from the teacher through teacher created games and activities. Feel free to message me or search through my listings to find this course!PLEASE NOTE: Weeks/sessions may be combined if this class is set as private due to only one learner at a time in the class for a one-on-one session. Students are given a login to the typing site via the Outschool Messages cent prior to class beginning or when they join. Please advise students to use this login and not their own so I can keep track of progress, monitor their practice times and help them see what they still need to work on or encourage them when they improve. When another login is used, I am unable to see all of that information. We will be using typing.com for some of the practice, but I have created my own games and activities to use in class as well. There may be ads on the site as I do not pay for the typing site at this time (I may in the future), but they have yet to be anything alarming. Please monitor the ads at your own discretion should they pop up. There are tools to turn off the sounds and change the visuals of the site at the student's discretion due to various needs or preferences. If you need any assistance with this, please notify me through Outschool Messaging!

Students will need to be able to access the chat box on zoom and get online to practice their typing lessons. It is recommended to write down the login information I send students in messages on Outschool to give your learner a visual to follow when we login each day during class.

We will be using a typing site to practice our typing and play games for extra practice. All website information will be provided in the classroom tab including a post with the link to the site. Login information will be sent via messages prior to class beginning.

I have been typing at 88-120 wpm since 2000. I was a teacher assistant in high school for my typing instructor due to my proficiency in typing and I have taught students of all ages on my own, as well as on Outschool, how to type proficiently since 2020. I thoroughly love seeing student's progress and smile as they do grow even in the tiniest way. Getting to be their cheerleader brings me joy!
