Experiencia de clase

Nivel de inglés: desconocido
Nivel Beginner
Hola y Bienvenidos!
Even at a beginner Spanish level your child can be an author and a reader! In this class students will begin to read short stories in Spanish, use their imaginations to co-write stories as a class and finally create their own story using a template!

🌟 Who is this class for?
1) Creative students who like to read and create their own stories.
2) Beginner Spanish students with little to no exposure to the Spanish language.
3) Students who want to learn Spanish in context.

*********

🌟How is this class structured?
1) Students are introduced to 2 short stories containing high frequency words and new Spanish vocabulary.
2) Students answer comprehension questions and play games to gauge their retention of details in the story.
3) Students co-create and independently create their own stories using the high frequency words and new vocabulary.

🌟Teaching Approach
1) Our number one priority is making your student feel welcome and included. We understand that when students feel comfortable they are more open to learning new things.

2) Vocabulary in this course is learned through exaggerated facial expressions, TPR (total physical response), pictures, games, and props to help your child make associations between new words and their meaning.

3) Teachers read slowly and clearly to model sentence frames and vocabulary for students.

4) This course is designed to give students repeat exposure to the target vocabulary and sentence frames so they have plenty of opportunities to practice and master the lesson objectives.

🌟Weekly Break Down

Week 1: Welcome to class!
1) Introduction to a short story about a teacher who searches for books within a school.
2) Teacher and students take turns reading the story.
3) Students demonstrate their comprehension of the story by answering questions and illustrating the story.

Week 2:
1) Teacher re-shares the story with students from week 1.
2) Students and the teacher play a game called "mentira- lie". The teacher reads the story after changing some of the details. Students shout our "mentira-lie" any time they recognize a detail that has been changed (ex. names of characters have changed, the item the person wanted changed, etc.). Students help the teacher remember the details from the original text and revert the story back to its original.
3) The class will co-write their own funny version of the story and change who the main character is, what their name is, how they are feeling, what they want and where they go to find this item.

Week 3:
1) Teacher introduces a second short story to the class about an animal in search of food, who must travel to different location to find a meal.
2) The class will play the game "mentira-lie" (see explanation of this game in week #2).

Week 4:
1) Student's co-write a second story using the original text about the animal in search for food and then work on their own story using a template and their creativity!

Please note: Families will get a copy of the class stories so they can be shared, read, and celebrated at home!

Our teachers are so excited to share their love of the Spanish language with your students through fun and interactive activities!
