Learn how to play chess in this fun and simple class intended for beginners with no previous chess experience. We will learn the basic rules and piece mechanics. By the end of the class, students will be able to play a full game of chess!

Prerecorded lesson videos will be available for the students, along with accompanying exercises that will be completed on lichess.org. You can view the detailed breakdown in the course syllabus. 

==================== About the Teacher ==================== 

I fell in love with the game of chess when my dad first taught me to play when I was 7 years old. To this day, it is a precious pass-time that we share. I went on to become the regional elementary champion and participated in the Canadian University Chess Championship as part of the University of Toronto team. I currently hold a rating of about 1900 and would love to share my passion for chess with anyone willing to learn. I encourage a growth mindset in all my classes, to take every win and loss as a learning experience.
