During this 30 minute class, students will learn how to generate new ideas and think like an inventor! They will be introduced to the concept of invention to solve a problem and shown some examples. We will discuss creative thinking and why "thinking outside the box" is so important. Sensible ideas are good but silly ones can be even better when it comes to being creative! 
Then learners will be given a brief to redesign a familiar object to improve its usefulness. We will talk through options such as adding more parts, combining another object, changing what material it's made from etc. The emphasis is very much on creativity rather than skilful drawing so the class is suitable for all levels. Learners will have 10-15 minutes to draw their "blueprint" and I will be able to help them if they require, giving suggestions for their drawing using a second camera. For the last 5 minutes, learners will have opportunities to talk about their ideas and show their designs to the group if they choose.
Please note that if learners wish to re-take this class I will change the brief so they have a new challenge every time!
All my classes focus on promoting a growth mindset and creative confidence in children. Activities and games are carefully designed to allow all students to feel included, experience success and express themselves. There are no wrong answers!

For this class, students will need paper, a pen or pencil and they may require coloured pens/pencils depending on their design.
