Looking to become a super summarizer?  This is the place to be!  We will use high-quality, engaging picture books to practice our summarizing skills in this ongoing course.  Each week, we will read a new story, and then practice using the format "Somebody - Wanted - But - So - Then - Finally" to write a summary of the text.  Your child will practice determining importance to pick out the most important information from the story.  Then students will use a graphic organizer to write a paragraph-long summary.  Time permitting, each student will have the opportunity to share their summary at the end of class.

*This class often ranges between 25 and 30 minutes, depending on the story we read as well as the students in class.*
