1-2 horas por semana. During the week, students will be asked to continue using the bullet journal daily to plan out the week, create lists, and track other information they wish to containerize, organize, or tame. Using a bullet journal daily can take anywhere from 5 minutes to several hours--depending on how much the student wishes to embellish his/her/their journal. Students will have fun quizzes on the principles and concepts we learn in class. They will set easy goals they are sure to accomplish during the week.Evaluación
Learners will receive an assessment of their strengths and challenges as we identify what's working for the teen and what can be improved. At the very end of the course, students will receive a summary about how to bolster these new habits and enjoy life more once the chaos is tamed. For students who end the course with big challenges still ahead of them, they will leave with an action plan for tackling the last bit of chaos.Experiencia de clase
Each week, students will focus on three areas of their life: their things, their room, and activities that can take place in their room. We'll start off learning together what makes some people like Hermione seem so organized and put together as well as why different organization styles work for different people. We'll start by figuring out what works for you as an individual (and that may not work for your parents or others you know). Then in each following class you'll learn another new skill about how to organize your room and how to keep it organized.
Metas de aprendizaje
FOR PARENTS: Does your intelligent, amazing child soak up much of your family time trying to find things at the last second, making everyone late? Do they scramble with working on projects at the last second? Are they not working up to their potential because something always seems to get in the way of a task? Teens face different challenges from kids--not only with their space but keeping track of homework, schedule, and often clothes. Wouldn't it be nice if they could be more organized? Not only that, but different teens have different strengths--and these can affect what methods work for them and what methods don't.
TIME: At first students will learn how to take control of their time by making it visual and concrete. During the semester they will gradually learn how to judge how long a task takes to complete. Then they will try out a series of time management and tracking techniques to see what works best for them. They will learn how to avoid procrastination by building reinforcing habits into their lives. They will also learn how to systematically take stock of their lives, various interests, and responsibilities through bullet journaling.
SPACE: Finally, they will learn principles of organization that will help them tame their own room and space on an ongoing basis so that they can easily find what they need when they need it and be ready for class, for outings, and for fun.
THINGS: By the end of class, students will enjoy listing not only chores and responsibilities, but also goals and dreams and other fun challenges they wish to tackle in life, so they can focus on experiences that will build life time memories and perhaps not so much on material objects. Because the best things in life aren't things.
STRENGTHS: Once we sort out what strengths your teen has, throughout the semester we'll learn to hone these strengths and build upon them so that what works well is maximalized. Students may take various quizzes through the semester to assess how they see the world and how they can leverage their natural disposition to take them to the next level.
The price for this course is cheap. Not only will it help your teen feel and become more successful as a student and person in life--you will be saving your own time and energy in the long run to do all the other things that you need to do.

Lista de útiles escolares
PLEASE PURCHASE: Lined journal suitable for bullet journaling, at least two pens for bullet journaling, one black or blue and one another color. (I prefer purple.) Part of this class is about organizing physical spaces. As a result, there may be suggestions about the need for hooks, containers, or furniture to help stay organized. Often there are inexpensive answers to these problems--such a utilizing Craig's list for desks or shelves, or using shoe boxes for storage solutions. Don't buy anything before the class! We'll figure out what needs containerizing first, then see what you already have available. Buying is the last resort. We want stuff going out of the house, not coming in. :)

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
There is nothing this instructor enjoys more than taming chaos. As a teacher teens, kids, and college students for over 25 years, I've noticed that students who excel in college are almost always consistently organized and ready for what comes next.
This is a semester-long course -- that will help your teen find their inner organizational goddess.

A long time fan of Julie Morgenstern (my personal organizing goddess), I'm also savvy about the use of time management skills and bullet journals since my job has always relied upon self-scheduling multiple projects and a need to tame the paper tiger that comes with being a writer. I've been helping friends tame their offices and schedules for years, and now I'm happy to offer this class to teens who are bright and know they can shine like Hermione--but for whatever reason are mired down by stuff and the need for skills. As a result often seem disorganized to others--or even worse--(horrors!) not as bright as they really are.
