This course will culminate in a final project that integrates learned principles.

Week 1: Introduction to Line
Time to get in line with your creativity! We'll start by exploring the wonderful world of lines in graphic design. From straight and sleek to curvy and quirky, we'll discover how lines can jazz up your designs. Then, it's off to Canva to whip up a project where lines take center stage!

Week 2: Exploring Shapes
Let's shape things up with the basics of geometric and organic forms! Get ready to delve into the delightful realm of shapes and uncover their significance in conveying meaning and emotion. Whether it's circles, squares, stars, or more intricate designs, we'll learn how to use these forms to spice up our designs. Then, it's your turn to shape the future with a Canva project that's all about putting these shapes in the spotlight.

Week 3: Understanding Form

As our primary tool for creating stunning graphic designs throughout the course, participants should be comfortable with Canva's features, functions, and interface to fully engage in the learning experience. Parents will need to sign learners up for a free Canva account before class.  Learners will need to be logged into their Canva account prior to the start of class.  (The learners can fully participate in the class with the free account.  The teacher will demonstrate some of the things that can be accomplished with premium features).
