This is a class all about the misunderstood animals of Halloween such as bats, rats, and black cats. Learners will learn the truth behind some of the most popular animals associated with Halloween and why they are associated to begin with. Other animals to be included will be snakes, wolves, spiders, ravens and owls too!

Halloween is a holiday celebrated on October 31st. For many it is a beloved day full of fun, such as dressing up in costumes or getting some awesome sweets from neighbors and friends! For others, Halloween is taken differently and is a lot more spooky... 
In preparation for the 31st, some get in the holiday spirit and decorate their homes with lights, spider webs, skeletons, and "creepy" animals among other items. Some of these may be hanging bats, lurking rats, perching ravens and owls, unrealistically large spiders, or the ever famous black cat. All of these animals are linked to the most frightening holiday of the year, but are they really that scary? If they aren't, then for what reason are they associated symbols of this holiday?

After this class, it may just turn out to you that all our favorite Halloween animals aren't spooky at all!... and yes, that does include snakes and spiders :)
Through this class, we will set the record for these super cool animals that truly deserve our respect! 
All these animals are awesome in their own way, but animals such as spiders, owls, snakes, bats, and wolves truly play a huge role in the native and natural ecosystems they are apart of.
We will also touch on the biology and ecology of the majority of species talked about in class.

*Education on these misunderstood animals is a start to making sure native wildlife will be here for generations to come. These species have been negatively associated through human fear and are not any less deserving of conservation attention. Rats and Black Cats make awesome pets in the majority of scenarios as well*

We will talk about what actions to take if we were to stumble across some of these species in day to day life, whether in the wild or at home.
This is a lecture style, interactive class with many opportunities to ask and answer questions from myself or other students.
No prior knowledge or experience needed to take this course. A love for animals is most definitely appreciated :)

If you are scared of any of these species or view them in a negative light, I hope through this course and some education I can change your mind about many of these vital and wonderful creatures. Respect is crucial in appreciating and understanding any animal!
