This is a weekly, ongoing, social art class for teens with autism or special needs. Each week learners will be challenged with a theme and encouraged to use their artistic abilities to draw, paint or sketch a design. Learners are encouraged to use any medium they are comfortable with. As learners are creating, appropriate social skills will be practiced, including turn taking, asking appropriate questions and listening to one another. This class is designed to challenge the imagination and artistic skills of the learner, while practicing appropriate social exchanges and building friendships. Week One (March 3) Draw or paint or design your favorite female character Week Two (March 10) Draw or paint or design your favorite male character Week Three (March 17) Draw or paint or design your favorite animal Week Four (March 24) Draw or paint or design your favorite item in your room

Necesidades de aprendizaje
This class is designed to support the social needs of teens who have autism. Teachers who run this class all have a special education background and will also be working on social skills such as turn taking, speaking and listening skills.

Students will bring their own art supplies to class. Supplies may include paper, sketch pads, paints. colored pencils, markers, graphite, digital art materials etc.
