I have been teaching the beautiful language of American Sign Language (ASL) for over 25 years at many venues. I have taught at a public high school and a private middle school and high school. I also have taught at a teen center, recreation and park classes-ages 6 months (baby and me)--to adults, afterschool/in school programs at public and private schools for ages preschool to 6th grade. I also have taught adults though an adult education program, as well as on my own via Zoom. I have taught many homeschoolers, as well, privately and in groups. I have taught using Zoom and I am very familiar with its functions. I have also worked with families, who have a deaf child to teach them ASL, as well as tutoring in a variety of subjects.

I worked for GLAD (Greater Los Angeles Agency on Deafness) as a job placement counselor, advocate and ASL interpreter for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, helping my clients get great jobs!

I graduated with my BA from California State University, Northridge, which was a huge Deaf Studies and ASL program. I have 50 post graduate units in special education and world languages. I took MANY ASL classes!

I started an ASL program at a private high school and created the entire curriculum from the ground up for ASL 1,2,3, getting all three approved by the University of California, A-G high school graduation requirements. (Required to enter a 4 year university). ASL is not English, and I will teach your children the proper way to sign in ASL, as well as teach about the rich and amazing Deaf culture, Deaf community and about Deaf history.

I will move at the pace of the students in my classes. I have beginning classes: introductory for 25 minutes and then some weekly and twice a week classes for 4, 8, and 14, 16 weeks, depending on the ages and if the learners had a class already. I love teaching through games and activities to engage and enlighten my students. If your learner needs a specific time/day, please reach out to me to arrange that.

I also run a college planning business and want to help Outschoolers through the college maze. I have worked with the Dept. of Rehabilitation, a state vocational organization that assists people with disabilities from high school to adulthood. I worked for a program as a counselor of 3 high schools and worked with students with IEP's and 504's and I continue to work for them part time, as a tutor for college classes, job counseling, assisting with resumes, job placement, job investigation, planning college classes, writing college essays, scholarship assistance and more. My own 2 children received many scholarships and are both university graduates.

I also worked for the state employment development dept, as a job counselor and assisted clients with unemployment insurance.

I am also a published author. I wrote a book and many articles. I have been on TV and the radio.

For hobbies, I love animals and have had cats and dogs. I currently have 2 cats. I fostered kittens for over 10 years. I love to paint walls (not art) and decorate and have painted and decorated the interior of my home. I also love to hike and bike, especially near the beach!
