During this one week French camp, students will participate in creative activities while practicing French reading and French vocabulary. The number one goal of the camp is for students to have fun in French! I encourage all students to repeat French vocabulary, participate actively and respect others! We are all here to learn! The 90 minutes is separated into 5 lessons and one small break. Here is a breakdown of the time spent:

First we start with verbal communication in French with a show and tell period. Each child gets 2 minutes to talk about a toy, a pet or a fun item they want to show us. Students are encouraged to ask their peers questions. Then do our first reading interactive lesson on Google Jamboard. The third activity is a creative art activity all done in French, of course. I will show the instructions in French and we will go over the vocabulary. This is a fun way to practice French while having so much fun! Please take note of all materials needed to accomplish these simple art activities in the learner supply list. After the art activity, we will take a small 5 minute movement break and dance to some French children's music. The next activity is a reading activity in which students must read instructions in order to color the items the right color. Depending on the student's reading ability, we can do this together or I can let the students complete it independently. The last part of the class is a relaxing one for the students. I will read to the students, asking them questions as I go. Students will view the illustrations on the screen and can enjoy being read to. Such a fun and relaxing way to end the class. I will then ask students to draw their favorite part of the story. They can complete this drawing after class if they want and show us the next day or post a picture of it in the classroom.

See each day's descriptions for activities that will be presented.

Day 1: Today we will practice compound sounds in French like "on", "ou" and "in" while playing an interactive game on Google Jamboard. We will also be making paper beads bracelets. Provide them colorful paper, scissors, and glue. I will show them how to cut paper into long, triangular strips and roll them tightly to create beads. Then, I will show them how to thread the paper beads onto cord, creating unique bracelets.
Day 2: Today we will practice reading colors in French like bleu, rouge, jaune, orange, violet and vert while playing an interactive game on Google Jamboard. We will also be painting the background color to our sunset painting.
Day 3: Today we will build words using parts of words and assembling them on Google Jamboard. As an example, there will be the sound "sa" and the sound "pin" and the students must put them together to make the word "sapin". We will also be painting rocks: Provide smooth rocks, acrylic paint, and paintbrushes. I will show them how to paint and decorate rocks with different designs, patterns, or images. They can use the painted rocks as paperweights, garden decorations, or even as gifts.
Day 4: Using a fun and intactive game on Jamboard, students will create and read funny sentences using words on virtual post it notes. We will go over subjects, verbs and adjectives during this class. We will also make tissue paper flowers: Supply colorful tissue paper, pipe cleaners, and scissors. I will show them how to cut tissue paper into squares and stack them together. I will show them fold the tissue paper stack accordion-style, secure it in the middle with a pipe cleaner, and then gently separate and fluff the layers to create beautiful tissue paper flowers.
Day 5: Today students will read a variety of simple French words and match them to the corresponding images in a fun interactive Jamboard game. We will also be finishing our sunset painting project.
