Experiencia de clase
Enhance your art smarts with this flexible schedule class where we enjoy masterpieces of sculpture from great artists. **Class Format** Monday - First Look. Each week I will share some background information about the artist and the culture in which they lived in a short 5-10m video. Students will then study the sculpture closely and share any observations as a written or video comment in the discussion thread. Tuesday - Second Look. Students should point out something new and different that they noticed about the sculpture after they study it a second time. Wednesday - I will post a shorter second video pointing out a few extra details that did not come up in discussion. Students are asked to spend the rest of the week recreating the sculpture in their own clay or paper model, drawing, or other creative way. Friday - Learners share their recreations in the classroom and comment on those of their classmates. **Class Schedule** "We aim at putting the children in touch with the great artist minds of all ages. We want to open their eyes and minds to appreciate the masterpieces." (The Parent's Review) Week 1 - The Bust of Nefertiti by Thutmose Week 2 - The Teracotta Warriors Week 3 - Nike of Samothrace Week 4 - Head of a Roman Patrician Week 5 - Cantoria by Donatello Week 6 - Pieta by Michaelangelo Week 7 - Medusa by Bernini Week 8 - The Thinker by Auguste Rodin Week 9 - Portrait of a Man by Alexander Calder Participation and frequent interaction throughout the week is really important. The exchange of ideas will help us all to be able to open our eyes and notice more about the painting that we would on our own.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
I am a Charlotte Mason home educator with a degree in English and Spanish Literature. I am passionate about science and the humanities, and am excited to share my passion for these subjects with your children!
I believe that students learn best when they do the work of learning. This means that I will do my best to put them in contact with living ideas and facilitate their journey towards a more comprehensive understanding of the subject. I want your students to participate in their own education. Rather than rote memorization, we will utilize first-hand experience and the process of narration (re-telling what they have learned from the lesson). I hope your children will leave my courses inspired and with a greater desire to continue learning!
