In this Art and Craft Club, students will work on fun and easy art projects each day. All classes will be step-by-step guided. We will draw, paint, color, cut, glue, and decorate a lot! To make craft projects we will use different media and materials. We will reuse some of the materials that can be found at home (cardboard, old newspapers, and magazines). To make art projects we will learn to use different tools and techniques. Week of Sep 04-08: Theme - The Woodland Deer: We will reuse an old cardboard box (for example, old cereal boxes, tissue boxes) and small wooden sticks (twigs) to make an adorable deer. Week of Sep 11-15: Theme - The Brave Lion: We will create a stylized lion. Stylization is a very interesting technique of simplification of lines, forms, and relationships of space and color. Week of Sep 18-22: Theme - The Funny Hedgehog: We will make a colorful hedgehog with pom-poms (a printable hedgehog image will be provided). Week of Sep 25-29: Theme - The Playful Squirrel. We will finger paint the squirrel, but instead of using paints, we will use modeling clay. Week of Oct 02-06: Theme - The Cheeky Fox. We will create a bookmark (or two) by doing origami paper-folding. Week of Oct 09-13: Theme - The Fall Forest. We will work on the Zenart project. Students will learn how to combine two completely different techniques - watercolor and graphics. Week of Oct 16-20: Theme - The Silly Raccoon. In this art project, we will recycle an old newspaper into a raccoon.Theme - The Chilling Pumpkins. Students will decorate ECO-friendly reusable trick-or-treat (candy) canvas bags by making stamps with an apple half. Week of Oct 23-27: Theme - The Chilling Pumpkins. Students will decorate ECO-friendly reusable trick-or-treat (candy) canvas bags by making stamps with an apple half. My main principle - there are no mistakes and wrong decisions in the creative process! Everyone, even the smallest artist, has his own path. In my classes, I will not ask students to mindlessly repeat after me. I will show them step by step video example where students can see different options, and be able to bring their personal touches to their artwork.
Metas de aprendizaje
Students will spark their imagination and creativity, but also will improve their knowledge about different art styles, techniques, and tools.

My name is Elena Galindo, and I am a children's book illustrator specializing in creating fun and whimsical digital illustrations in a playful and adorable style. I am excited to introduce myself and share a little bit about me with you.
I have been creating illustrations that bring stories to life with lively characters, cute and cheeky animals, and colorful landscapes. Children are my favorite audience, as they inspire and motivate me to create illustrations that can spark their imagination and ignite their curiosity.
In addition to creating illustrations, I also teach digital art to children. This has given me valuable insight into what children are interested in and what captures their attention. I am always looking for new ways to engage children with my illustrations
I have a bachelor’s and master's degree in Human Resources with a large portion being focused on training and development. I have also taken several art courses in painting techniques. Additionally, as a mother of two, I enjoy teaching my kids about art and languages. I show them the importance of cultural diversity and multicultural integration.
My philosophy is that everyone has the potential to be great. The importance is to guide students with fun and interactive courses to keep their focus on the task at hand.
I would love to be your paintbrush buddy and I hope to see you in my classes. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me and I will be happy to help.
