Art Across the USA Learn about United States art history, explore artists from each of the 50 states, and create your own art inspired by their work. To start class, students will learn about an artist, a style of art, or a group of artists that comes from that state. This will be done largely though a slide show while asking students about what they see. During this portion, each learner is given an opportunity to talk. The artists we cover will range from art of the Native Americans, artists during the revolutionary and civil war, art of the 20th century, and contemporary artists. We will be sure to cover artists that are women and people of color. Next, we will make artwork of our own inspired by that week's artist. Some weeks will be done through directed drawing, but students are encouraged to make any changes they want to their work to make it unique to them. Other weeks learners will be given a drawing prompt based off of the artist work. Students will be asked questions about their work as they create to encourage plenty of interaction. In the last 5-10 minutes of class each learner will share their artwork. Some students will need time outside of class to finish their artwork. Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
The two things I love most in life is art and teaching! I have a degree in art education and have lots of experience working with young students. I think that basic understanding of art techniques and theories are important things that students should learn to not only further their art skills but also to see the beauty in the world around them!
