Tarea
1 hora por semana. I will provide free-response questions previously released by the College Board for students to practice on their own each week. These will not be required, but will enhance the learning experience. I will check for correctness and even grade them if students would like me to do so.

In this course, I will give sessions teaching the content of the AP World History: Modern course for students taking the AP exam on May 15. I spent the last two summers grading essays for the AP World History: Modern Exam for the College Board, and I feel that I can use this experience to help students in this course succeed.

My hope for this course is that students that join will communicate in the class conversation board about what they might need extra help in, anything that was not clear that you've learned before, or whatever else you may need. I will post lessons with a breakdown of the topics that need to be known about for the test, using the AP World History: Modern Course and Exam Description (CED) as the basis for what is absolutely necessary to know.

My teaching style is very engaging, using a large amount of student interaction and student-produced examples. Students are often asked to give self-references to concepts in order to enhance memory retrieval with important concepts.

Students joining this course should either already be part of an AP World History: Modern course or be actively self-studying in order to take the AP World History: Modern exam. I will make sure that content is presented as if it were the students' first time learning the information, so as to accommodate for students who may be learning the material at different times than others.

For more information on the course, a description of the exam, and much more, the Course at a Glance and the Course and Exam Description (CED) are posted in the classroom so that all learners have access to this important information. Additional information is reposted below.

The AP World History: Modern course is an introductory college-level modern world history course. Students cultivate their understanding of world history from c. 1200 CE to the present through analyzing historical sources and learning to make connections and craft historical arguments as they explore concepts like humans and the environment, cultural developments and interactions, governance, economic systems, social interactions and organization, and technology and innovation.

Some sensitive topics may be covered when discussing concepts in the AP World History course, but they will be handled in a way that is both age-appropriate and ideologically balanced. I have been teaching AP classes for 7 years and I have 9 years of teaching experience in world history and psychology, which has trained me to approach sensitive topics in an empathetic, highly understanding way. I have also graded AP History essays for the College Board for two years, which has given me an expertise on the grading process that I would love to share with your students.
