Experiencia de clase

The purpose of this class is to practice meditation, mindfulness, and affirmations to soothe the worried mind.  This would be a great accompaniment to my other classes on emotional well-being such as Teens Taking Charge of Their Emotional Health and Taking Charge of Your Emotional Health for Preteens

Each week learners will open the class by sharing a peaceful moment they have experienced this week, then they will practice meditation, discuss ways of adding mindfulness into their day, and use affirmations for feeling at ease in their daily routine.
There is a 2 student minimum for this class.

Week 1: Learners will practice Heart-Focused breathing and breathing in peace while exhaling anxiety. Affirmation: I inhale peace and exhale worry.
Week 2: Learners will practice 4-sided breathing and moving meditation of lifting arms while breathing in and lowering while exhaling.  Affirmation:  I am calm and at ease
Week 3:  Learners will practice feeling calm while imagining ocean waves while breathing and we will practice the tree pose. Affirmation:  I am safe and grounded and I am going with the flow.
Week 4: Learners will practice mindful eating and mindful drawing.  Bring food to class that you enjoy eating! Affirmation: I am enjoying this moment.
Week 5: Learners will try a grounding practice and will imagine themselves feeling calm in a situation where they normally feel anxious. Affirmation:  I am relaxed and confident.
week 6: Learners will practice relaxing by focusing on a peaceful imagination and repeating an affirmation of their choice. Students will write a list of things, people, etc. that feel peaceful. Affirmation:  I and safe and protected.
Week 7.: Learners will practice a movement meditation, and journal about challenging situations they have overcome.  Affirmation: I am strong and resilient
Metas de aprendizaje
Learners will have 20 minutes of peace and calm and will gain tools to help them when feeling anxious.
