Please note: a Nintendo Switch/Switch Lite and Nintendo Switch online subscription with internet access is required to participate in this class. Please make sure the learner has access to both before signing up for this class! Crazy about Animal Crossing AND Sanrio? Love Hello Kitty? Little Twin Stars? Cinamoroll? How about the very sweet My Melody? Do you love the cranky frog Keropi? Or maybe you're a fan of Pompom Purin? Come to my island to meet new Sanrio inspired villagers. You'll get to take home a full set of whichever Sanrio items you choose! When you arrive at the island, we will take a tour of the new Sanrio inspired villagers and check out their cool homes. Meet them, talk to them, take tons of selfies! You will also be given the choice between each Sanrio items set to take one back to your island with you. Come with empty pockets to load up on goodies! There will also be a bell drop at the end of class, so you may go home with thousands of bells! This class is also a great opportunity to connect with other learners who have common interests in video games and Sanrio, and we can also share fun tips and tricks for maximum game play! This class will provide an engaging, safe space to enjoy fun game play for everyone. We will use this opportunity to practice our social skills by interacting with one another and engaging in discussion about our favorite aspects of the game! Once you arrive at the island, please wait in the front for your fellow learners to land. Talking on your Nook phone, opening your pockets, trying to shop or talking to villagers will result in interference during flyover and can possibly crash the island. This will take up game play time as we will have to start all over again with a new Dodo code. Please be patient as it takes time for everyone to join the island. If we have connection issues, I will add an extra 10 minutes of game play. If you cannot stay the extra time, I will issue a 25% refund. Parents and learners: it is important that you check the battery life of your switch and your connection speeds to ensure smooth game play. If you have a low connection and it disconnects repeatedly as you try to fly over, I will try to assist as much as I can, but if it becomes disruptive to the other learners, you will have to exit the island and I will issue a 50% refund. I do not offer refunds or transfers to learners who are more than 15 minutes late or those who do not attend class, unless I am given prior notice or it is an emergency. Hello! I am so excited to share some fun classes with you!
I graduated from the University of California, Fresno, in 2012 with a bachelor's degree in science education and a minor in ancient history. I am currently pursuing my master's degree in education. I have been teaching children my entire adult life. I am a private ESL tutor, and I also tutor English language arts. I volunteer at a local exotic animal sanctuary, and occasionally teach cooking and sewing classes through my local church. I find teaching to be such a rewarding career!
My approach to education is focused on creating and maintaining a connection through your learner's personal interests-I believe that all educational subjects can be made fun. I feel that anyone, regardless of age or previous knowledge, can learn something new every day.
Through Outschool, I hold social classes where learners can connect with one another using the popular game, Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Some of the classes I offer focus on the educational side the game has-such as learning about fish, bugs, deep sea biology, and art. Other classes are purely to give your child a chance to socialize and have fun with others! With the unexpected stresses and unknowns of this year, I firmly believe that virtual hangouts are a great way to reconnect with other learners in a relaxed, safe space.
