Receta casera de Animal Crossing: New Horizons

In this one time class, fellow ACNH fans will visit my islands in search of wanted recipes, while bringing any unwanted recipes to exchange with other students (optional). Upon entering my island, students will drop any unwanted recipes and will search my island for new recipes of value, both items exchanged from fellow players as well as from my excess recipe stash. In the game, items are often received from villagers, floating balloons, and washed-up message bottles. These items hold no value and cannot be sold for bells in the store, which results in tons of extra recipes. Players will have different recipes, depending on the season, the hemisphere of the island, and also the players own experiences. Some recipes tend to pile up quickly and players are left with an abundance of unwanted recipes. This recipe exchange offers students the chance to swap with other players for needed recipes.

In addition to each student’s donated items, there will be an abundance of recipes I will provide for exchange, to include recipes from the new update (2.0) clothing, housewares, tools and less common items. Additionally, I will have an abundance of resources available to the students in order to make their new items. Students will have a blast digging through other players’ unwanted items. Ten minutes prior to class, students will be given the dodo code to access my island. This is because traveling to another island is a slow process and each student will need to wait until it is their turn to enter the island. Of course, a student is not required to head to the island before class, it just makes the process easier if a few can alleviate the bottleneck. Upon landing, students may immediately find a place to drop their unwanted items and begin finding new ones. They will also be offered loads of bells to bring back with them.

This class will not be cancelled for low enrollments. The recipe exchange will still be possible even with only one student. Every class will offer different items.

Note: A Nintendo online subscription is required to participate in this class, as students will need to “visit” my island to look for the items.

Perfil
Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
As a facilitator of several popular video game groups, I have enjoyed watching friendships blossom among the like-minded players. Some gamers are attracted to playing video games because they lack a real connection with most of their peers and the pandemic has been particularly isolating to these kids without connections. Other kids enjoy playing and talking about their favorite games to anyone with ears. Like my own son who is on the spectrum, kids who play video games often disconnect from the world around them. I have found that uniting kids with similar video game interests builds confidence and valuable social skills while making meaningful connections with the world around them.
