In this on-going class we will use slideshows, hand-outs, and discussions to learn how to care for different animals. We will cover a different animal each week and it will be learner directed which animals we cover the following week. Learners/Parents are welcomed to ask for an animal not on this list as well! Week 1- Rats: This week we will learn how to care for pet rats. This class will feature African Soft Furs and rats (adults and babies)! Week 2- Puppies: This week we will learn how to care for puppies. This class will feature live dogs! Week 3- Ball Pythons: This week we will learn how to care for a ball python and some of the different morphs. This class will feature a sub-adult and adult ball pythons. Week 4- Boas: This week we will learn about rainbow boas and boa constructors. We will view a live rainbow boa and sunglow boa constructor. Week 5- Quail: This week we will learn how to care for quail. We will get to see a live rooster and hen quail. Week 6- Leopard Geckos: This week we will learn how to care for a Leopard gecko and see 3 Leopard Geckos!

Students will understand the amount of time it takes to care for an animal to make an informed decision on if they think they'd be up to caring for it as a pet.

During lessons about snakes we will talk about how they eat live or frozen rodents.
