Experiencia de clase

In this class, one time 90-minutes, students will review previous activities and learning points that include: This Is How Anger Feels #1 (activities- say hi to your anger, naming your emotions, how does your body feel) and This is What Anger Does #2 (activities- what happens in your brain and body when you feel angry, decoding your anger, consequences of anger). As the class continues with a new chapter, How To Look Out For Anger #3 students will practice more strategies (activities- where and when does your anger show up, anger thermometer, we all get angry sometimes). In Anger Management #3, students will start to make connections and put the pieces together and show understanding to their feelings by defusing anger before it arrives. Students have identified their triggers and will know what to do with anger urges and body sensations to defuse anger.

Students will apply prior knowledge and skills to explore more about their anger and share experiences of anger with others. I will ask questions during each activity, promote engagement, and provide information on behavior management. Students are given examples of how to practice the strategies of reducing anger urges. As students recognize their anger before it starts, they will become aware of the triggers then use strategies that will decrease their response to anger.

In this class, How to Look Out for Anger #3, students will take notes during guided instruction, and can use the chat box and reactions to express themselves. Each class will follow the same structure of providing information about why they get angry and how to resolve it. It is important for students to write during the activities when prompted to practice what they learned during class. I allow all voices to be heard as some students both verbal and nonverbal want to express themselves and show understanding during each activity. Students will interact and engage in video clips of behavior, take notes and practice strategies.

No prior experience is required, many students in this age group are already working through anger therefore, looking at anger from a different view is helpful for behavioral management.
Metas de aprendizaje
The learning goals and objectives for this class will introduce a new chapter in anger management to answer the question, why do you feel angry? As this class practices the strategies in class #1 and #2, students will learn more options to divert anger by understanding what to look out for when feeling anger arrives. Then learning from other students how they are managing their feelings.
