In this 30 minute one-time class we will delve back in time to discover the origins and evolution of one of the deadliest animals to ever swim our oceans: the shark. This class will start at the very beginning and make our way through time to the present, and we will discuss the sharks of each time period from Stethacanthus, to Helicoprion, to the biggest of them all: Megalodon. Combining both up to date paleontology with recent reconstructions of these sharks, we will explore the different...
- Students will learn about different species of sharks throughout the history of the oceans, when they lived, their size and shape, their diet, and how they changed over many millions of years.
I have both a Bachelor's of science and Master's degree in Earth Science, with a focus in paleontology, and have previously worked at a UNESCO fossil world heritage site.
