1 hora por semana. Diagrams can be filled out during class. Weekly 10-question quiz will be done on the learner's own time.Evaluación
Most Nearpod Interactive Slides will be done during class. These will not be graded because they are considered "practice". The very last slide will be a 10-questions cumulative quiz that learners can do on their own time and a grade will be issued. Diagrams can be filled out during class. I won't ask learners to turn these in but they can if they would like feedback.Calificación
I will issue a grade for each weekly quiz, but you can also contact me to request a cumulative grade.Experiencia de clase

**TRY FIRST CLASS AT A DEEP DISCOUNT ($18 OFF) WITH COUPON CODE: NEWTOFNAJN18 **This class is also available in a flex/pre-recorded option - message me for details.** I originally created this course for a post-secondary health program and the director/doctor of the school recently had this to say about the course lectures/materials: "Hi Stephanie, - I may just have to thank you after every class! (The students) are just so grateful for your classes - the combo we created is just so effective - I am so grateful. Thank you!" In this 10-week course, learners will learn about each body system (see syllabus for systems included). Lecture/slides/discussion is broken up with Nearpod Interactive Slides to help reinforce the course content (and make it more fun and engaging!). Each lesson includes: 1. One live class per week (80 minutes). A 5-min break will be given in the middle of each class. 2. Nearpod Interactive Activity Slides between teaching slides/lecture/discussion (drag and drop, matching, Time to Climb contest/quiz, and more) so I can assess learner understanding of the material. 3. A printable diagram which can be labeled during the lecture clips (optional). 4. A set of teaching slides which can be downloaded and kept by learners. 5. A 10-question quiz at the end of each lesson (optional, but strongly suggested - learners can use teaching slides/notes while completing the quiz). This course was developed to match the level of a Human Body Unit of a College Biology Course. This course is suitable for high school students and possibly advanced upper middle school students. This class should prepare anyone planning to study the human body in college (and go onto a full anatomy and physiology college course). SYLLABUS: Week 1: Intro and Human Body Cells Introduction to Human Body Systems (homeostasis, body system synergy, feedback loops) Animal Cell Overview (organelles and their functions; diagram provided to complete during lecture video) Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 1 Quiz) Week 2: Nervous System Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 2 Quiz) Nervous System Diagram Week 3: Endocrine System Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 3 Quiz) Endocrine System Diagram Week 4: Circulatory System Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 4 Quiz) Circulatory System Diagram Week 5: Respiratory System Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 5 Quiz) Respiratory System Diagram Week 6: Digestive System Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 6 Quiz) Digestive System Diagram Week 7: Urinary System (as part of the Excretory System) Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 7 Quiz) Urinary System Diagram Week 8: Skeletal and Muscular Systems Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 8 Quiz) Skeletal and Muscular System Diagrams Week 9: Reproductive Systems Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 9 Quiz) Reproductive System Diagrams Week 10: Integumentary (Skin) & Lymphatic/Immune Systems Nearpod Interactive Slides (including Lesson 10 Quiz) Integumentary/Lymph/Immune System Diagrams **Full list of my high school science classes**: Cell Biology (animal cell organelles, cell division, mitosis/meiosis, DNA, genetics) Anatomy/Physiology/Pathology (this class) Nutrition 101
Metas de aprendizaje
Learners will understand animal cells and the human body. Learners will be able to identify various ways in which body systems work together to perform life functions and maintain homeostasis in the body. Learners will understand various pathology for each system.

Necesidades de aprendizaje
Lecture/slides/discussion is broken up by Nearpod Interactive Slides for learner engagement. Flexible deadlines. Homework is optional.
Orientación para padres
*Female and male anatomy are studied in lesson 9. Optional diagrams of female and male anatomy will be provided that learners can label. This is not sexual education, but taught from the perspective of the structure and functions of the reproductive systems.
*Pathology will be discussed toward the end of each class (the last 10-15 minutes). Some learners may find this content distressing, but I always teach pathology from the perspective that there are MANY diseases which we can prevent or improve through lifestyle (of course this is not true of all diseases). Please contact me if you feel this material will be distressing to your learner.

Licenciatura en Ciencia desde The Florida State University
I have my bachelors degree in science in Nutrition from Florida State University. My degree included all pre-med prerequisites (cell biology, microbiology, organic chemistry, chemistry, physics, anatomy and physiology - 2 college semesters). I also worked as a pharmaceutical sales representative and had additional training in the circulatory, respiratory, digestive, and urinary systems. I am a former middle school science teacher in Florida public schools and have been teaching middle and high school students on Outschool since 2020. I originally developed this course as part of a contract for a post-secondary health program and have adapted it to the high school level for Outschool. I recently heard from the director of the program and she had this to say about the course materials:
"Hi Stephanie, - I may just have to thank you after every class! (The students) are just so grateful for your classes - the combo we created is just so effective - I am so grateful. Thank you!"
