In this 5-day camp, we will make Among Us themed crafts and play the game Among Us by private server. I really excited about the crafts and game that I have designed to coordinate what the game. Half of each class will be spent working on a craft or playing bingo. The second half of the class will be spent playing the video game. The non-game activity each day will be as follows: Monday- drawing figures Tuesday- paint large 3D paper figurine Wednesday- finish 3D paper figurine, make play doh figurine Thursday- Among Us bingo Friday- toilet tissue roll craft Our method of play will be adapted to be suitable for this age group to allow us to talk during game play and have verbal meetings so that we can avoid using chat. Among Us is a “social deduction” collaborative game. One or more of these players is an Imposter sabotaging the game and killing Crew Mates. Crew Mates have tasks around their ship to complete. Players can have meetings and vote on who they believe the Imposter is. Whoever receives the most votes is dejected from the game. Dejected and killed players become ghosts who can also complete tasks. Ghosts and Imposters can travel around the ship by going through walls. Imposters can also travel through vents. The goal of the game is to complete all of the tasks on the ship before the number of imposters equal the number of surviving Crew Mates. Tasks are things like flipping switches, reconnecting wiring and directing the spaceship. There is a map and arrows directing you to tasks that need to be completed. I will be playing the game and teaching from separate devices so that I can watch the Zoom classroom through Outschool and also view and play the game from a second screen. It is easiest for students to also have a second device to play the game from. I can screen share the game from my second device to students if they have questions. Generally, this game is played online with strangers. Strangers would be able to communicate with players through chat. We will be playing in a private game with no strangers. Students will need to download the app and set up a profile before class. In this camp, you will be able to allow your learner to safely play this game each week with a group of their peers in privately hosted games. This will be a private game only accessible to people who register for this class through Outschool. I have experience playing this game with my own child and supervising her playing this game with others. It might be necessary for me to miss class and schedule a Saturday makeup class at the usual class time if my 6-year-old daughter is scheduled to work (modeling and acting). She typically has one booking per month taking up part of a day. That part of the day may or may not fall during this class. The class rules are: Be kind Mute yourself if you have background noise so that we can hear each other Give everyone a chance to speak Don’t talk over your friends If you’d like to speak next and someone is already talking, you can raise your hand so I can make sure you are next. Supply List: Paper Pencil Markers Black crayon File printed on cardstock Watercolor paints Paintbrush Cup of Water Glitter (optional) Scissors Stapler Cotton balls Play doh: white, black, blue & figurine color Bingo cards printed off Coins or pieces of paper to cover bingo Toilet tissue roll Cardstock or construction paper: white, light blue, dark blue, 2 shades of figurine color Glue stick

Orientación para padres
Parental guidance and assistance will be necessary as you will need to determine if your child is mature enough to play among us. You will also need to download the Among Us app to your child's device and set up a user name and account for your child to play the game and participate in class.
Class will use scissors and staplers. Younger children may need assistance.
Please note that Among Us has instituted the following COPPA compliance measures:
Quick-Chat Mode
If a user of our Game self-identifies or is identified by us as being a Child (each, a “Child User”), their gameplay experience will automatically be set to “Quick-Chat Mode,” unless the parent or legal guardian of the Child permits otherwise. Child Users in Quick-Chat Mode are restricted from communicating with or otherwise making their Personal Information publicly available to other users of our Game. Child Users will only be able to use a set of fixed phrases to communicate with other users in Quick-Chat Mode and will not have links to social media in our Game. Each of these features is designed to limit our access and the access of other users of our Game to the Personal Information of Child Users in compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 and its rules (“COPPA”).
Accounts
Child Users may register an account with us using a registration process similar to the one adults go through; however, in compliance with COPPA, Child Users will first be subject to a parental notice and verified parental consent process. To initiate the registration and consent process for a Child User, we collect a parent or legal guardian’s email address. We will automatically generate randomized usernames for registered Child Users, unless the parent or legal guardian grants the Child User permission to create a custom username.
Child Users using an Apple or Google family sharing account are not permitted to register another account with us and are subject to the most restrictive privacy settings in the Game.

Recursos externos
Además del aula de Outschool, esta clase utiliza:

Maestría desde University of Tennessee
Licenciatura en Música o Teatro o Artes desde University of Notre Dame
I enjoy incorporating educational opportunities into fun activities. For example, my Girls’ Coloring Social Club hides science, geography, social studies, arts, communication and history.
My teaching style preference is a homeschool approach emphasizing respectful for the child by allowing children to speak during classes rather than instituting abject muting. Students are treated like they and their ideas are important. Students are able to learn proper socialization skills over time through this teaching method.
Occasionally, I will need to cancel class with only a few days notice to travel for work or to meet family responsibilities. If this may be an issue, please consider it before enrolling.
CLASS RULES
All of my classes have the same classroom rules:
Be kind to each other
Don’t speak over others
Allow everyone a chance to speak
Mute yourself if you have background noise so we can hear each other
You do not have to raise your hand to speak but if someone is speaking and you’d like to speak, raise your hand so I know to call on you next
CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT
It detracts from the learning experience of students and from my teaching when I have a student attending classes who refuses to adhere to the class rules.
Noncomplying students will be corrected (muted in extreme cases) and reminded of the class rules 3 times each class before being sent to the waiting room. If a student is sent to the waiting room, a message will be sent to the parent after class about the classroom issues with the student. If a student is sent to the waiting room during 2 classes, the student will be withdrawn from class.
