Grado de EE. UU. 3 - 5
In this class, we will take a look at the history of each state: Who settled it? When and how did it join the Union? What important events happened there and who came from there? What is it most known for today? We will explore the culture of each state and what sets it apart. My goal with this class is to cover more than the state tree, flower, and motto. I want students to discover and learn which state has a State Park that has the only diamond mine in the world that is open to the public, which state has a law where it is illegal to eat fried chicken with a fork, what is the only state that has a state seal designed by a woman, what state produces the most sweet potatoes, and more!

           - The order of the class is listed below. We will cover each state in the order that they joined the Union. Some of the topics covered will be Native American History, the American Revolutionary War, the Civil War, the Industrial Age, people that are famous from that sate, and what each state is most known for.

            - Each week is an independent class. You pay for each week that you would like to join. You can pay for each week that you choose to attend class. There is no start or end date, so feel free to come and go as your schedule dictates.

             - As this is a weekly subscription class, there is no homework. Each class will consist of a powerpoint lecture, some videos, and a brief history about the time period.Since this class is only 45 minutes long and we are trying to cover a lot of material, the majority of our "discussions" will be through the chat box.

I have been an educator on Outschool since February of 2018. I have my MBA and MHA, both of which have taught me the value of conducting research and asking questions. I have a passion for history, organization, reading, and learning. You can usually find me in the middle of 2-3 books or watching a documentary.

I am also an Outschool ACE Educator, which means that I continually seek out ways to improve my teaching skills, learner experience, and knowledge. Some of the seminars/courses that I have attended in the past are: Foundations for Teaching and Learning About Native Americans; The Presence and Absence of Asian America: What Truths Lie Beyond the Headlines; Using the “Diary of Anne Frank” to Amplify Students’ Voices; Painting a Just Picture – Art and Activism.
