What does an orange, wrench, a pickle, Hershey kiss, lump of coal, and musical note have in common? They are all things dropped on New Year's Eve around the country. Come discover where and why these items are dropped. We will start by looking at a picture of the New Year's event and try to guess where this drop takes place. After the location is revealed, we will mark the location on a map. Next, we will discuss why they chose that item to drop and how it is important to the community. We will finish the class by having learners tell what they would have dropped in their community. Note: This class does not resemble the TV series.

Experiencia y certificaciones del docente
Greetings from North Carolina! I am a homeschool mom of two and a teacher of many. I have a bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Child Development with over thirty years of teaching experience. I have taught from age three to adult in a variety of subjects. I have taught in the classroom and at educational conferences. I taught in a preschool for ten years and then taught a broad range of subjects for the last twelve years. For the past five years, I have been teaching online where I have taught ESL, AP Art History, High School Economics, History and Social Studies (all grade levels), Elementary Science, Middle and High School Geography, High School Public Speaking, and High School US Government. I especially have loved teaching and exposing students to traditions and customs around the world and about their very own through genealogy classes. I am passionate that education should instill a love of learning first and foremost.
Join me on an exciting adventure as we travel around the United States in my class – The Amazing Race- USA Edition. Or learn what it takes to become a millionaire in Who Wants to Be Millionaire? which is a financial literacy class for middle and high school students. I get to share my love of art, music, and poetry in my Charlotte Mason classes.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, reading, and scrapbooking. My children and I have visited all one hundred counties in my state, all fifty states in the United States, and many countries. We have had many adventures. I hope you will join me for my next adventure in the classroom.
Most of my classes depend on learner participation and discussion, please let me know ahead of time if you would prefer me to NOT encourage your student to do so.
If you have 4 to 8 students, who want to take a class together, please contact me, and I will try to set that up for you. There is something for everyone!
Please email me with questions. Happy Adventuring!
