Do you enjoy learning about animals and drawing? Then, this is the class for you! In this class, I will teach the students many interesting facts about the penguin! Learners will find out fun things about these amazing animals, such as what penguins eat, where they live, different ways they move on the ice, how big they grow, how they have special feathers, and more! I will also lead the students in a simple directed drawing of a penguin throughout class to keep them engaged and having fun learning. No art experience is required! I will lead the students step-by-step throughout the class to make their very own penguin, while learning about it!

I have experience working with children of all ages, teaching, and making lesson plans. I have a B.S. in Elementary Education with an English minor from Pensacola Christian College in Pensacola, FL (2015). After graduating, I taught full time in first grade and K4 for two years at Pensacola Christian Academy in Pensacola, Florida, where I taught all subjects. This school has a specialized focus on early reading and phonics, so I have strong experience in those areas. I then taught ESL online for over four years. I have also been homeschooling my preschool-age daughter for the last two years. I love teaching and working with students of all ages, and I am excited to be an Outschool teacher! I am passionate about helping young students excel in reading, phonics, and grammar. I am interested in teaching elementary-age children, especially ages 5-7. I have experience teaching early reading and phonics, as well as grammar. I believe that reading is the gateway to all learning and want to give young students a strong foundation, which will help them in all areas of their lives.
