All learners who would benefit are welcome!  I am patient, kind, experienced with diverse learners, and look forward to meeting some of Outschool's youngest students!  Each student participates at their own comfort level, with lots of encouragement & positive feedback.  We will work on social skills like listening and taking turns along with our letters.

Specific skills addressed in this class are:
-Letter identification/naming
-Letter sounds
-Introducing & sharing information about ourselves
-Waiting for a turn
-Listening to others
-Asking & answering questions
-Sharing our art
-Possibility of other early literacy skills.

A letter coloring page will be shared in the classroom each weekend.  We'll begin class with every learner having a chance to tell us their name, one thing about themselves, and receive an individual welcome.  I'll briefly teach the letter name and its sound.  Learners will color the letters and items that begin with that letter as we take turns sharing how the items relate to ourselves.  We'll talk about likes, dislikes, & personal experiences, and practice the letter's sound.  As time permits learners can also ask  'get-to-know-you' questions for the other learners to answer, or share a brief story, all in turn.  We may sing the alphabet song or add other brief early literacy learning if a whole group is ready, interested, and time allows.  At the end every learner will be invited to show their coloring.

Week of Aug. 13 -    Letter C
Week of Aug. 20 -  Letter D
Week of Aug. 27 -  Letter E
