**Please let me know if you have a specific time in mind for scheduling. ** I offer one-on-one tutoring for pre-K to 4th-grade school students who want to improve their reading skills. Whether students are just beginning to learn reading strategies or striving to meet grade-level standards, my goal is to help them use the techniques that work best for their learning style and to improve their proficiency in related skills. Focusing on comprehension is crucial, and I encourage each student to discover the techniques and abilities that suit them best. While we will focus on meeting the reading standards for their age and class level, how they apply these skills will depend on each student’s individual skill level. I will utilize material from social studies, math, science, and history during class, including PowerPoint lessons and YouTube videos, which I will provide and organize in a folder for each student. Each class is designed to help students enhance their reading and comprehension skills within a safe and supportive learning environment. The sessions will be interactive, and I am here to help. Each class will be 50 minutes long, beginning with 10 minutes of word study, followed by 35 minutes of read-aloud and a mini-lesson. During class, it is helpful to encourage questions and gather opinions from others about the subject matter. The last 5 minutes of class will be dedicated to reviewing skills learned. CLASS EXPECTATIONS Students are encouraged to share what they know about the reading material or genre. I expect respectful participation during class. Students will be asked to show their work via webcam so I can monitor their progress. They will have time during class to share their activities. My classes are interactive, and I encourage discussion that includes movement. Please ensure that your learner has plenty of room to move around. I enjoy engaging each learner by asking questions and seeking their opinions on the subject matter. Most importantly, I want each learner to have fun while they learn.

Texas Certificado de Docencia en Educación elemental
Maestría en Educación desde University of Phoenix
I am a licensed elementary school teacher based in Texas with a wealth of experience in teaching. I hold a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, as well as an Ed.S in Educational Technology. I have worked in various states across America, including Virginia, Louisiana, Texas, Minnesota, and Colorado, where I was a licensed/certified elementary/middle school teacher. I have also worked as a special education teacher as well as an online ESL and private teacher. My specialty lies in working with students who have severe physical, mental, and cognitive issues, including those with Autism and High Functional Asperger's.
Currently, I work online as an English Language teacher, writer, and teacher trainer, where I teach a wide variety of courses that incorporate reading, writing, math, and technology skills in relation to history and cultural awareness. I also run a business called "Michelle's Innovations," offering services such as ESL teaching, training for other teachers, and customized lessons/tutoring for homeschooled students.
I am passionate about teaching and have a variety of interests that I want to share with my students. I enjoy teaching project-based courses that make learning fun and interactive. I am also a lifelong learner and attend many workshops to improve my skills. I hold several certifications as a Language teacher, including Phonics, English as a Second Language, and Language-based Disabilities.
Aside from teaching, I have a keen interest in history and culture. My two favorite historical figures are Abraham Lincoln and Malcolm X because of their perseverance in the face of failure. I believe that each person has the potential for success, and my passion is to work with students in small groups and individuals who require scaffolding instruction to achieve their goals.
I am married to a retired Navy person and have lived in many different parts of the USA. My family has also lived in Europe, where my Dad worked as a teacher. I believe that we are a global community that needs to live together, and I love to share my experiences with my students.
