Your student will learn how to code with Python, one of the world's most popular coding languages. The goal of this class is for students to move from beginner to intermediate Python developers. Some projects we will complete including a Ceaser cipher, interactive graph representing real world data, fully functional calculator, and a multi-level game. Students should already have a very good understanding of variables, functions, conditional statements, and loops before starting this class. Please, see parental guidance for more information. Your student will be amazed at what they can do at the end of 8-weeks and be excited about continuing their coding journey. Interactive Groups Every student is strongly encouraged to post questions, sample code, and their projects every step of the way. This gives students the chance to learn from each other and start practicing reading code. The instructor will also be providing feedback and guidance daily throughout the course. This course will utilize Code with Mu as a code editor throughout the course. This is a code editor specifically designed for beginner/ intermediate coders. We will also utilize various Python libraries for projects, including Tkinter, Pygame Zero, and the related documentation (instructions) at Pypi. The website Python.org will also be used as a general reference throughout the course.
********* This is an intermediate course and students need a very good understanding of Python foundations. They should have completed the Level 1 and II Python Summer Camps or the 8-week Python for Beginners Course. Please, contact me if you have questions. **************

Over 5,000 students from nearly 100 countries across a variety of platforms have started coding in one of my classes. I offer classes covering the foundations of Python and AI. I am the author of the soon-to-be released book All About Python for Kids. Before teaching, I worked as a software developer for nearly 10 years. I've worked for organizations including Apple, Dell, and Best Buy. I believe the best way to learn is by doing and all my classes are based around hands-on projects that progressively build in difficulty. I'm a graduate of Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland. I can't wait to meet your learner in the class and get started soon.
