In this class, we will cover the 8 parts of speech, 5 parts of a sentence, phrases, clauses, and 4 types of sentences: simple, complex, compound, and compound-complex. There will be supplementary practice that will be reviewed upon request and a final writing practice to ensure understanding. - Students will learn 5 parts of a sentence: subject, predicate verb, direct object, indirect object, and subject complements.
- Students will learn the difference between a phrase and a clause and how to identify each.
- Students will learn how to write and identify simple, complex, compound, and compound-complex sentences.
- Students will learn 8 parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, prepositions, conjunctions, and interjections.
