"All About Automobiles!" is an engaging online course for grades 4-7, covering automotive engineering, design, history, customization, and future technologies. We'll explore everything from engine basics to self-driving cars in six weekly lessons. Each class combines interactive lectures, virtual demonstrations, and hands-on activities. My teaching style is dynamic and inquiry-based, encouraging critical thinking and creativity. Students will participate in: - Lecture, short video clips and slides (15 minutes) - Live discussion and Q&A (15 minutes per class) - Writing and design challenges with discussions (15 minutes) Learners will create diagrams, write short essays, and develop innovative car concepts, receiving personalized feedback throughout the course. The lesson will culminate in a design challenge where students will create a detailed, labeled diagram.

Why do cars look like they do?
We'll examine the principles of aerodynamics and how they influence both the performance and aesthetics of vehicles, as well as the evolution of basic car design. We will also discuss the evolution of trends and styles in car design, and the ways the automotive industry reflects and develops these trends for consumers. For their assignment, students will design their own car body, considering both aesthetic appeal, safety, and more!

Lección 3:
Who is driving this thing?!
We will explore the ever-increasing role of electronics in modern vehicles. Students will learn about onboard computers, sensors, and control systems that manage everything from engine performance to safety features. The lesson will include an introduction to concepts like ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and traction control. Students will create a flowchart illustrating how a modern car's computer might process info to enhance driver safety.

Lección 4:
How do people customize their cars?
Students will learn about various customization movements, from classic hot rods and lowriders to modern tuner cars and art cars. We'll discuss how these modifications reflect cultural identities, historical contexts, and artistic expression. The lesson will cover the technical aspects of customization, including body modifications, performance upgrades, and aesthetic enhancements. Students will end the lesson customizing their own car.
