In this ongoing class, we will focus on the aspects of algebra that are important for success in algebra. We will take notes together and do several examples of problems covering the basics of algebra so that students can feel prepared and confident in their ability to understand and perform algebraic steps. My teaching style is very calm and patient, with many examples and pictures to keep the information interesting and relevant to the kids' lives. There is no stress here! Learners can interact with me as they choose. I encourage questions if students have them. I will also stay after class each week, so that any kids who want one-on-one time with me can stay after our lesson ends and ask questions or get extra help. If students can't make a class, there is no worry because they can always watch the recording of our meetings and get the information that way!

Algebra Equations!
During our first lesson together, we will look at and solve basic algebraic equations. Students will:
-Recognize what makes an algebraic equation versus an algebraic
expression.
-Solve basic algebraic equations.
-Understand vocabulary words: equations, coefficients,
constants, exponents and variables.

Lección 2:
Linear Equations!
In this lesson, we will learn to recognize linear equations, graph them on a coordinate grid, and understand the information within the equation of a line. Students will:
-Write linear equations when given a picture of the lines on a graph.
-Graph equations on a grid when given an equation.
-Understand y-intercepts and x-intercepts.
-Recognize slope as positive, negative, zero or undefined.

Lección 3:
Linear Inequalities!
During this session, we will recognize the difference between equalities and inequalities, graph solutions to inequalities, and evaluate solutions when given a graph. Students will:
-Categorize linear sentences as equations or inequalities.
-Solve and graph solutions to linear inequalities.
-Shade solution regions on the graph.
-Determine possible solutions when given the solution graphs of

Lección 4:
Quadratic Equations!
During this lesson, we will learn the difference between linear and quadratic equations as well as the difference in their shapes and graphs. Students will:
-Categorize equations as quadratic or linear.
-Find x-intercepts and y-intercepts of quadratic
equations on a coordinate graph.
-Solve for y-intercepts when given quadratic
equations.
-Find the line of symmetry of a quadratic equation
