A grade for the class is available if requested. This is a full-semester Algebra 2 class that will meet twice a week for 55 minutes each class. Learners should have a solid understanding of the concepts in Algebra 2 Part 1 to be successful in the course. During the class I will go over concepts in Algebra 2 and explain the "why" of doing something as fully as possible. I will do example problems and then we will do problems together with the learners answering guided questions as well as worksheet questions to help solidify their understanding of the material. Learners will then work on problems on their own so that they have a chance to test their understanding of the material. We will then go over the problems so that learners that are having difficulty can understand any misconceptions they have. When possible, previous concepts will be integrated into later concepts so that students are able to see the larger picture and understand how the concepts fit together. Learners will be given homework problems with answers that they may also use to check their understanding and they will be able to ask questions during class regarding any homework problems that provide difficulty for them. Week 1 Rational Functions, Multiplying and Dividing Rational Expressions Week 2: Adding and Subtracting Rational Expressions Week 3: Complex Fractions, Solving Rational Equations Week 4: Work Problems, Travel Problems Week 5: Minimum and Maximum Values, Rational Exponents Week 6: Simplifying Irrational Expressions, Solving Irrational Equations, Solving Rational Inequalities Week 7: Exponential Functions Week 8: Logarithmic Functions Week 9: Sequences and Summation Notation Week 10: Series Week 11: Trigonometry: The Unit Circle Week 12: Trigonometry: The Unit Circle Continued Week 13: Radian Measure, Graphs of Trigonometric Functions Week 14: Inverse Trigonometric Functions, Solving Trigonometric Equations Week 15: Descriptive Statistics: Measures of Central Tendency, Measures of Dispersion Week 16: Descriptive Statistics: Regressions, Normal Distribution
