Álgebra 1 al descubierto, parte 1: exploración de expresiones, ecuaciones lineales y funciones

This course is designed to provide a comprehensive coverage of the concepts in an Algebra 1 course.  During this class we will get through the first 3 chapters. Students will apply previous mathematical experiences to solve real world problems. 

Every class will follow a similar outline. All classes will begin with a short warm up. This could be skills that they may have previously learned before taking this course, or those that we have just reviewed. After the warm up, the topic will be introduced. The class will follow and I do, We do, you do format. This means, I will review the first few examples. Then we will complete a few examples together and then we will end with a them completing examples independently. There will be homework at the end of each class and it will be due before the start of the next class. Notes and corrections will be given in the classroom. If many students struggle with the concept, we will review and answer questions in class. Please note this class will run 3 days a week for 10 weeks during the school year. Students will be encouraged to take part 2 and 3 to complete the year long course. The topics are as follows:
