This one-time class dives deeper into a specific survival skill, building shelters, Students will touch on history, math, science, nature, and culture while exploring the topic of shelter building for survival situations. This class is a great way to engage imaginations while learning critical life skills. Some of the topics we will cover include: Making an appropriate shelter for your situation Site selection Material to use Prioritizing basic needs Time management Conserving resources, including energy Staying calm and letting logic and reasoning lead decision-making and of course how to build! Watch your student's imaginations take off as they plan and build their own shelters after class is over!

By profession, I am an Ecology Instructor at a local College Environmental Education Center. I have 15 years of experience teaching Math, Science, and History, and multi-disciplinary classes at the elementary, middle, and high school level. I am also a homeschool mom of 3 and co-op director. I love teaching through hands-on activities including experiments, games, and real-world adventures. Science and math classes are my current specialties, but I also love to teach adulting skills, and fun game-based or craft-based multidisciplinary classes.
I am a Google Certified Educator and a certified Vex Robotics Instructor and I have been designing escape rooms for decades!
