Sit, No Bad Dog!
Does your dog not listen to your student? Having a dog who listens to everyone in your family can make your life easier and more fun. When a dog is well trained they become loyal and amazing companions! I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer. I love working with and teaching kids how to train and create a special bond with their dog.
In this 4 week course there will be no live meetings so your student can take their time and have a week to complete each assignment. Each week I will provide step by step videos of me completing each new skill and new trick/game with my own dogs. Once the student has mastered the skill and trick/game they will record themselves performing them with their dog and upload it to the Outschool classroom to gain feedback from myself and the other students in the class. My goal is to create a safe and positive environment with students providing support and encouragement to their classmates.
**The dog must already know Sit, Down, Come and Leave It in order to take this class. I prefer that the student have taken my Basic Beginner Dog Training 101:FLEX course, but if your dog already knows these skills message me and I will approve your enrollment into this course.**

Students will learn how to teach their dog the following basic obedience skills:
Watch Me
Leave it Part 2
Stay
Wait

Students will learn how to teach their dog the following basic tricks/games:
Bow
Sit Pretty
Place/Mat
Leg Weave

Week 1: For the first week, I will post an introduction video of myself and my two dogs. This weeks skill is "Watch Me" and the trick is "Bow." The students will be required to complete the new skill and trick in their video. Students will review the best ways to communicate and train their dog. By the end of the week, students will post their performance videos so I can review them and provide feedback. They will also create a post introducing themselves and their dog to me and their classmates on Outschool. I will also respond to any questions and help the student troubleshoot any problems they may have when working with their dog.

Week 2: This week our new skill is the "Leave It Part 2" and the trick is "Sit Pretty." I will post how-to videos of completing each skill and trick with my own dogs. Students are required to perform both the new skill and trick in their video submission. Students will post their new video by the end of the week, and provide positive feedback to at least one classmates video from the previous week.

Week 3: This week we will focus on teaching your dog patience. Your student will learn how to teach your dog to "Wait." The new trick is "Leg Weave." Your student will learn how to get your dog to weave through their legs. If your dog is too big to complete this trick, please let me know and I will assign you a different trick to do with your dog. I will post how-to videos of me performing those skills with my dogs. Completing the new skill and the trick is required for this weeks homework. The students will, by the end of the week, post their new videos of performing each skill with their dog and comment on another classmates video from the previous week.

Week 4: This week we will focus on your dogs impulse control. The new skill is "Stay" and the new trick is "Place/Mat." I will post how-to videos of me performing those skills with my dogs. The students will post a final video of themselves performing the skill and the trick and saying goodbye to their classmates. They will also comment on another classmates video from the previous week.

**Please note if you don't practice with your dog every day and complete the homework, then I cannot guarantee successful results with your dog.
**Class will take place in the Outschool classroom where students will receive videos and assignments weekly. Each week I will check in with the student, provide feedback to their submitted videos and assignments. Students can also email me directly with any questions or if they need help troubleshooting a new skill with their dog. I will provide tips and guidance to the students each week.
